Backstage Access Magazine has had the unique opportunity of going behind the scenes of history in the making with Mr. Rodrick AKA Bigg Percy. Putting together two very successful, regional music progressions, the Pomona City Movement & The Long Beach City Movement with his good friend and business partner, Snoop Dogg.
Hailing from the South Side of Pomona, Percy took it upon himself to go back into his native community and give back to the city he came from by gathering popular music industry greats from the city of Pomona such as: Sugar Free, KoKane, Mista Choc, Above The Law Cold 187um, KMG (RIP), Weazel Loc, and Pomona Pimpin Young, to name a few. These legendary artists joined forces to put together a collective of young new talent coming from all areas within the city of Pomona. Taking talented artist from the streets and providing them with a positive opportunity to record in high quality studios without any problem. All Bigg Percy asked of these artist, was to follow protocol and they will WIN!
With the help of Pomona Pimpin Young along with hard work and dedication, the Pomona City Movement released their number one mixtape this summer titled ” Pomona Versus Everybody”. Their first project which received awards. The Pomona City Movement went on to open shows for major artist and put out individual projects. Some of which were signed to contracts with Tha Return of Doggy Style Records and some to Pimp On Entertainment. Most recently, Pomona City Movement were part of the history making “Puff Puff Pass Tour 2”, with the likes of internationally acclaimed recording artist Snoop Dogg, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Too $hort and many others.
